The Band
RevZed is Kingston's most electrifying band. Our live music experience offers audiences the primal, cathartic, and adrenaline-fuelled sound that defined early punk rock and heavy metal, while also innovating through a dazzling incorporation of prog rock and electronic influences, as well as topical lyrics. Few bands today kick ass on stage with the same passion and proficiency as RevZed, as we rip through our repertoire of both trailblazing originals and covers of anthemic classics, with Green Day, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, the Ramones, and Deep Purple being our biggest influences.
Started in 2023 at Queen's University, RevZed currently consists of four Queen's students/alumni: Jack Blurton on lead vocals and drums, Max Hammer on bass, Haluka Matsuura on guitar, and Callan Robinson on keys. After bursting onto the Kingston music scene and wowing audiences with their unmatched energy for over two years, we released our debut EP, Welcome to the Real World, in 2026.
Jack Blurton: vocalist/drummer
Jack takes on the unusual combination of both vocal and drumming duties when he performs with RevZed. He was initially recruited only to be the band’s singer, but after one show, the band agreed to let him become the drummer as well so that he could show off a rare talent that he had been developing since the age of 12. He frequently performs solo and with other artists, and work outside of RevZed can be found using this link. Now, when Jack goes on stage with RevZed, he channels inspiration from bands like Nirvana, Royal Blood, and Green Day to do one thing, and one thing only: bring the intensity!
Max Hammer: bassist
Max first performed with RevZed as a fill-in bassist in March 2025 and became a permanent member in September of that year. He is influenced by all-time great bassists like Geddy Lee, Paul McCartney, and James Jamerson.
Haluka Matsuura: guitarist
Haluka was initially recruited to be the band's drummer, but he switched to primarily becoming the rhythm guitarist after one show. However, he shows off his versatility at RevZed's performances by switching back to drums for a song or two and also occasionally playing lead guitar. Heavily inspired by metal rhythm guitarists such as James Hetfield of Metallica and Matt Heafy of Trivium, Haluka is a badass who plays with an awesome distorted tone while hammering out downstrokes for the entire performance.
Callan Robinson: keyboardist
Callan was recruited to add an experimental flair to RevZed's punk rock aura, while also bringing to life influences like Deep Purple, Daft Punk, and Rush. His first show with the group was in front of an audience of almost 500 people at The Ale House & Canteen in March 2025.
